Ever since takeover, Elkem Carbon (China) puta lot of
efforts into the establishment of quality system, including
training of ISO 9002 system in Norway. Owing to this unremitting
effort, on Nov. 6th 2001, ECC received the ISO 9002 qualitycerti-ficate
issued by China Quality Certification Center for Import and
Export.Quality system of ECC is div-ided into Quality Assurance
and Quality Controlrespectively. The former, Quality Assurance
depar-tment, is in charge of management of nonconformity in
the whole production and business process,which is crucial
to continuous improvement.It regis-ters,monitors nonconformities
in each depa-rtment,carry out nonconformity analysis,and propose
corrective and preventive quality assur-ance procedures,based
on which decisions on quality assurance will be made by Corporate
Management team and results of non-conformity handling will
be supervised.

| The latter, Quality Control department,
is responsible for the adoption and establishment of test
standards for various steps in the production process,
such as raw materials, semi- product and finished products.
Standards used before takeover is gradually superannuated
and new advanced DIN and Elkem standards be adopted in
Elkem Carbon (China) with the close cooperation from Elkem
Carbon plants in various part of world. With these advanced
standards in place, quality system in Elkem Carbon (China)
could better serve the interest of customers. |
